Overview

Edition: Core and Pro

Texelator creates a surface-following texture rig for a selected mesh. The workflow produces editable guide locators, follicle/control hierarchies, texture placement networks, and a material connection.

Problems it solves

  • Moving a texture placement without manually wiring Maya utility nodes.
  • Keeping a texture control attached to a moving mesh surface.
  • Building symmetrical left/right texture parts from a shared source image.
  • Organizing the generated rig and UV reference objects under a mesh setup group.

Typical uses

Eyes, mouths, makeup, decals, tattoos, facial details, creature markings, and stylized graphic elements are typical uses. Texelator is not limited to those examples; the required input is a selected polygon mesh with valid UVs.

Workflow outcome

After a successful final build, the selected material receives the managed texture output. The setup is recorded beneath Texelator_<MeshName>, so it can be found later with Edit Existing Setup.
